While waiting for dinner the other night I said to Martin,
"I'm so hungry I could eat the lamb off the leg of God."
Martin said I was wrong and claims that it should be,
"I'm so hungry I could eat the leg of the Lamb of God."
Can anyone clear up this trivial misunderstanding?!

Actually the spell check says they are both correct. I do think they mean different things:
1. "I'm so hungry I could eat the lamb off the leg of God." -> What I understand is that there is a lamb next to God and you want to eat the whole thing.
2. "I'm so hungry I could eat the leg of the Lamb of God." -> What I understand is that you only want to eat the leg of the lamb.
In conclusion: it depends.
Personally I prefer I could eat a scabby wean!

When I feel hungry I like to say, 'I could eat the hind leg off a donkey' What is it with animals'legs? Poor things!

Obviously they taste better than our legs. Brigid used to say she could eat "a fat nun through the gates of heaven"!
